PROJECT

The Red, White & Glue project explores the American Scrapbooking movement, particularly how it has changed and evolved in recent history. This project will combine discussions of the history, background, current trends and unique aspects, interspersed with profiles of scrapbookers from all over the country.

Scrapbooking is unique as a craft, because it incorporates so many elements of other crafts, quilting, rubber stamping, sewing, photography, painting, paper crafts and more.

It is also unique because it is part personal, part public, but always deeply emotional and never boring (although sometimes tedious).

Scrapbooking elicits strong emotions, in both participants, and non-participants. Outsiders view it as just another hobby, while for insiders it can be a business, a part-time job or even a lifestyle.
